UF Paris Research Center

The UF Paris Research Center was founded by Dr. Gayle Zachmann, Professor of French at the University of Florida, in 2003. Over the course of the next 8 years, Professor Zachmann created a research home in Paris for UF scholars and researchers, organizing colloquia and joint research projects, as well as developing unique study abroad programs, tailored specifically to professors’ research and teaching interests.

Professors who began research at the PRC have seen their research enhanced by contacts established at the center. Students who took part in intensive and semester programs have continued their studies in the U.S. and abroad, and many are currently involved in international projects, such as Peace Corps or international internships, or are working abroad in areas such as journalism and public relations.

The six years that I worked at the Paris Research Center were among the most enriching of the more than 25 years that I have been shuttling between San Diego and Paris. The UF Paris Research Center was closed in 2011. I invite you to explore some of the programs that were offered at the center to give you an idea of the rich opportunities available to you in Paris, and with the right guides.
